Polar Client is a Minecraft: Java Edition launcher and mod pack. This page explains what it does with your information. The short version: your login stays between you and Microsoft, and Polar doesn't sell or share your data.
Signing in with Microsoft
Polar uses Microsoft's standard sign-in. You enter your password on Microsoft's own page, so Polar never sees or stores it. After you sign in, Microsoft gives Polar a token that proves you own Minecraft, plus your Minecraft username and player ID. Polar uses these only to launch the game.
What's stored on your computer
- Sign-in token, so you stay logged in between launches. Signing out deletes it.
- Your Polar settings: which mods are on, HUD positions, your selected cloak.
- Game files: Minecraft, the mod loader and the mods in the Polar pack.
These stay on your computer. Delete the Polar folder to remove all of them.
What Polar sends over the internet
- Requests to Microsoft and Mojang to sign you in and download the game.
- Downloads of mods from Modrinth.
- A request for the server list shown in Browse, and a standard status ping to each listed server to show its player count.
- When you join a server that supports Polar, a short message telling that server you're using Polar and which version. Servers use it to give Polar rewards.
What Polar doesn't do
- It doesn't collect your password.
- It doesn't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- It doesn't track what you do in game outside the features above.
Servers you join
Servers you connect to, including PvPCloud and PolarMC, see what any Minecraft server sees (your username, player ID and IP address) and have their own rules and privacy practices.
Changes
If Polar adds features that use your data differently, such as cosmetics synced between players, this page will be updated first and the date above will change.
